Sometimes you go to a restaurant not really for the food, but for the fun experience of the place. My husband saw this place in one of the morning shows, and he brought us there for dinner a couple of weeks ago.
Caffe Piansa is just over a month old. It’s a two-storey building located at Midtown Marikina and what’s unique about the place is the “jail theme”. Felt like I was visiting a diner in Alcatraz!
There are several “prison cells”…
There’s even one with an electric chair inside, which the little boy thinks is fun to play with…
The beverage area looks like a courtroom sala. As you can see, the bartender is wearing a judge’s robe, another waiter is in a police attire and others in old black and white prison outfit.
The food was actually not bad, very similar to Cafe Lidia and Quizia (other famous restaurants in Marikina). It’s fun to look at the menu with dishes like Guillotine, Lethal Injection and Firing Squad.
Ok, so I forgot the names of the dishes we ordered. I just remembered the pizza was all cheese, we had buffalo wings and some sort of ravioli.
We did encounter a problem with the buffalo wings. We noticed some wings were not cooked well and we showed it to the waiter. He came back with a new plate! Probably they’re still experiencing birth pains. We did appreciated the gesture.
Over all we had a good experience. We will definitely come back coz the kids enjoyed playing around the restaurant and there are other dishes I’d like to try.
